According to Freddie Mac’s Prime Mortgage Rate Survey, the average interest rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage ticked down by two hundredths of a percentage point to 3.65 percent for the week ending April 23, 2015. While it wasn’t a big change, it’s a reminder that our economy still hasn’t recovered fully from the shock of the recession. It’s also further confirmation that now is a great time to buy a house if you can qualify for a loan.
